Photo: Contributed A prominent Kelowna businessman has passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Ian Speckman, owner of Kelowna Chevrolet and Maple Ridge Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer passed away on August 3, 2022. Speckman worked in Maple Ridge BC before moving to the Okanagan in 2018. The obituary for Castanet states, “It is with great sadness that we share the sudden and unexpected death of Ian Speckman. He is survived by his loving wife Lena and sons Alex, Joel and Luke, also survived by his mother Janneke, brother Rick (Susan) and sister May. He will be remembered by his nephew Michael and nieces Cassandra and Kristen. Predeceased by his wife Wendy, father Hans and brother-in-law Dennis. “Ian was so much to so many: a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, natural leader and loyal friend. His positivity, generosity and character were felt by everyone he met.” The obituary goes on to say that Speckman was a car salesman at heart and spent 37 years in the automotive industry. “Ian will forever be in our hearts.” The family requests donations to Speckman’s favorite charity, The Canucks Autism Network, in lieu of flowers. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at noon at Gospel Church – 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna BC
