Each dose of Bavarian Nordic’s ( BAVA.CO ) Imvanex vaccine, the only monkeypox vaccine currently available, will be divided into five doses, with exceptions for pregnant and immunocompromised people, the ministry said. With the new strategy, Spain follows in the footsteps of Britain, which also approved the use of lower doses of the monkeypox vaccine on Monday, after the European Medicines Agency decided last week to allow “maintenance doses”. read more Sign up now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com Register On Monday, Spain received another 5,000 doses of the vaccine, bringing the total received to more than 17,000 doses.
