In the UK, it was 2am call time for any Game of Throners who wanted to catch up on the series first. As with many of HBO’s UK series, they are shown on Sky Atlantic and catch up on NOW TV, which is a pay-as-you-go service with NOW TV’s Entertainment Pass costing £9.99 a month. HBO
Watch The House of the Dragon for free
With the cost of living rising, audience streaming budgets are shrinking. But if you’re smart about it, it’s possible to watch the entire House Of The Dragon series without paying a penny. Step forward: the free seven-day NOW TV trial. We estimate that if you sign up for the trial a week before the final episode on Tuesday 18 October, this will give you time to watch the previous nine episodes before the grand finale, which airs on Monday 24 October. Of course, just remember to cancel the trial on your account before any funds are deducted after this one week.
What do the critics think?
Is the new dragons and kings fantasy series worth a watch? The first information shows that. Here in esteemed sirwe called it a “polite” hit that will make you “feel like you’re back in season one of the biggest TV events of the last decade.” The guardian called it “a smash hit… everything is like it was in GoT’s heyday,” with LA Times agreeing: “It regains the power, the grandeur of the original.” The New York Times was a little less generous with its praise, claiming it was “flat” and “printed in Martin’s line of medieval fantasy types”, however Entertainment Weekly he says to stick with it as “the beginning is the worst part […] The Dragon does not fly at once, but no House was built in a day.” All in all, the new exploits of House Targaryen are unlikely to attract individual new viewers, but they are more than likely to make up for the fans who were blown away by the mocked final episode of GoT. The less said about it, the better.
