Nawaf Ali, 40, says he planned to park next to a driver who was later injured in the collision before changing his mind and pulling into another space. He added that he heard a “noise like an aircraft going down” when the 4×4 came “flying over a metal barrier”. Mr Ali said the scene after the crash was “like a horror movie”. A woman in her 20s, who was a passenger in the Range Rover, died at the scene after the crash on the A40 westbound near Park Royal tube station in west London at 3.50am. on Monday. It’s unclear how fast the vehicle was traveling, but the video shows orange sparks flying as the 4×4 crashes through the metal barriers of a Tesla showroom at speed. A police source said the vehicle then “crashed into the station, landing on the tracks”. The driver is in a critical condition in hospital, while police said the condition of the second passenger in the Range Rover is not life-threatening. All three people in the vehicle were in their 20s. A man in his 50s who was driving a stationary Tesla at a number of charging points at the showroom was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police had earlier said the person was a woman. Mr Ali, who has two teenage children, told MailOnline he had planned to park his Tesla next to the other driver before changing his mind and parking a few spaces away. He said: “I could have died last night and my children would not have had a father.” Mr Ali continued: “Where I was standing was where the car went through the barrier. If I had been standing a few meters away then I would have been hit. I’m still shaking thinking about it.” Reflecting on the moment the Range Rover crashed through the car park outside the showroom, the Uber driver added: “All of a sudden there was a noise like a plane going down. It was so loud. I put my head down and this car flew over the metal barrier. The noise was incredible, but then it was silent.” Ali was not injured in the crash, but says he is still suffering from shock. He returned home after talking to the police. The father-of-two said he called 999 “immediately” and was asked to live-stream the scene to control the ambulance before paramedics arrived. He continued: “There was a lot of debris everywhere. I was walking, then I saw the body of the young woman. It was awful. I didn’t see her at first and I wasn’t sure it was a body. It was only when I got closer that I was able to get her out. “When I saw that I just ran back to my car. It was too much. I couldn’t bear to look at it. It was like a horror movie, but much worse. I don’t want to see anything like that again.” Mr Ali added that he would never use the Tesla charging station on the A40 again. Witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to call 101, ref. 905/August 22.
