The former Doctor Who star, 39, who plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, heir presumptive to the Iron Throne, was seen enjoying a naughty tryst with his whore lover Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) at a brothel. The actor was seen naked during the racy scene, with Daemon stopping in the middle of the road while appearing distracted as he dwelt on the possibility of being replaced by his brother King Viserys I (Paddy Considine). Far from the Tardis: House of the Dragon fans were stunned by Matt Smith’s graphic sex scenes during a premiere episode (portrayed as Daemon Targaryen with lover Mysaria, played by Sonoya Mizuno) A second scene shows the Demon in a brothel he has rented for an orgy for the men of the King’s Watch. Daemon, who has become heir once more after the death of Viserys’ son Baelon, gives a speech, his loyal companions pausing awkwardly during the intercourse to listen. Fans took to Twitter to comment on the star’s new role, with one saying: ‘Matt Smith sex scene I choked on my taco’, while another wrote: ‘I will never forgive House of the Dragon for making me watch Matt Smith is having sex.” Another typed: “Watched #HouseoftheDragon last night and it was great! I loved Matt Smith in Doctor Who, so I could really do without seeing him in a sex scene while dressed as a Legolas fan.” Another wrote: “I don’t have high hopes for House of the Dragon, but I’m giving it a chance basically because I’m bored. I can’t say I was particularly interested in seeing what Matt Smith would look like having unsatisfying sex.” One fan wrote: “I was so excited for Matt Smith until his sex scene in House of the Dragon, while a second typed: “I don’t know if I can watch Matt Smith bang every week in #HouseoftheDragon. Even with long blonde hair, it’s still Doctor Who.” Lol: Fans were quick to share their horror on social media The first episode of the much-anticipated series has already sparked controversy. The creative minds behind the show recently revealed that they showed Queen Aemma Targaryen’s brutal medieval C-section scene to several women to gauge their reactions before the show premiered. The harrowing scene during the premiere episode depicted the queen (Sian Brooke) trying to free son Baelon, who is in place of the rock. Queen Aemma had been trying for years to give King Viserys (Paddy Considine) a son to serve as heir to the Iron Throne, though the only surviving child was Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock). While Visesrys tells the Maester to perform the technique, he does not tell his wife, with gruesome scenes showing Aemma being cut as blood pours from her abdomen. He then bleeds to death and while the child initially survived, Baelon died shortly after his mother. Series creator Ryan Condal and co-showrunner/director Miguel Sapochnik revealed in a new interview with PopSugar that they showed the scene to several women to see if it was too violent, stating that Aemma “really got murdered by her. husband.’ Controversial: The harrowing scene during the premiere episode of the Game Of Thrones prequel depicted the queen (Sian Brooke) trying to give birth to son Baelon, who is in place of the arm Horror: While Visesrys tells the Maester to perform the technique, he doesn’t tell his wife, with gruesome scenes showing Aemma being cut as blood pours from her abdomen
The horror of a medieval caesarean section
Babies in the breech position (where the head is facing up rather than down) can be fatal for mother and baby.
It was usually only performed as a last ditch effort to save the baby if the mother was dead or dying – due to the blood loss of the procedure and the serious risk of infection
Henry VIII’s third wife, Jane Seymour, reportedly had a caesarean section to give birth to son Edward in 1537 – although this has been disputed.
Jane died of postpartum complications less than two weeks later.
Sapochnik admitted that the scene was the “topic of much discussion” and several different versions of it were shot.
“It seemed important to highlight something that was kind of the most traumatic event … it’s what’s tearing this family apart,” he said.
“And more importantly than anything else, Viserys doesn’t give his wife, Aemma, a choice, and that’s something that seems very important,” he added.
She acknowledged that the scene might have made people uncomfortable, revealing: “We intended to show it to as many women as possible and we asked the same question: ‘Was it too violent for you?’
“And unanimously, the answer was no. Often the answer was, “No, if anything, there should be more,” Sapochnik said.
“It raises a point that . . . it’s a real trigger for women, which is this idea of choice and not being able to choose,” says Sapochnik.
“She was basically murdered by her husband. And that’s a good indication of the state of play in this world we inhabit,” he added.
“This seemed like the right time to visually draw that parallel between the two, the male and the female race. One fights on the battlefield, the other for survival, sometimes from the person closest to her,” he added.
Fans were also left horrified by the scene, with one writing: “I usually never walk away from things but this c-section scene was very disturbing,” said one person, while another wrote: “This c-section scene has the My anxiety through the roof hours later.’
“Aemma’s death scene hit me HARD, I never expected it to be so violent when it doesn’t happen like that in the book at all,” wrote another tweet. “So cruel for no reason.”
“It’s going to take me a second to get used to how violent, bloody and gross GOT was,” added a different user. “#HOTD was VERY tonight. This birthing scene will be with me for a while.”
House of the Dragon made history in its Sunday night debut on HBO and HBO Max, as the Game of Thrones prequel drew 9.99 million viewers — the largest ever in the network’s history — Warner Bros. said Monday. Discovery.
The ratings for the debut marked the biggest numbers ever before the streaming era, and shows later debuted on HBO Now and the since-defunct HBO Go, according to Variety. The numbers are based on Sunday night HBO Max linear shows and streams.
The series, which is a prequel to the smash hit Game of Thrones, more than doubled its predecessor’s 2011 debut, which had 4.2 million viewers at the time. The show drew a record 17.9 million for its final season debut in 2019.
HBO’s hit Euphoria — which is the network’s second-most watched show in history behind Game of Thrones — drew 2.4 million viewers for its second season debut last January.
The prequel’s source material is the 2018 novel Fire & Blood by series co-creator George RR Martin, and takes place 200 years before Game of Thrones, detailing the history of House Targaryen.
Martin created the show with Ryan Condal, a co-host along with director Miguel Sapochnik. The show stars Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans.

HBO/HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys said it was “great to see millions of Game of Thrones fans return to Westeros with us last night,” Variety reported.
Bloys added: “House of the Dragon features an incredibly talented cast and crew who put their heart and soul into the production and we are ecstatic with the positive response from audiences.
“We look forward to sharing with audiences what else George, Ryan and Miguel have in store this season.”
The overall numbers from the network came after news that House of the Dragon debuted to the best same-day viewing of the year for premium cable or streaming services in the US with 2.6 million households tuning in on Sunday.
The statistics were based on viewers who watched the debut episode on HBO and the HBO Max streaming service in the first six hours of its release, TV analytics firm Samba TV reported, according to the New York Post.
The series drew more than double the same-day viewership of Netflix’s Stranger Things season four debut earlier this year, which drew 1.2 million households.
