The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. at the Holiday Bar in the 2400 block of Whittier Boulevard, where a verbal dispute turned physical before the shooting, according to Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Leticia Ruiz. Officers arrived at the scene to find six victims — four men and two women — suffering from gunshot wounds, an LAPD spokesman said. Bystanders were holding the suspect down. The injured, including a man in critical condition, were taken to hospitals, the spokesman said. His seriously injured condition was later upgraded to stable. he and the other victims are expected to survive. According to police, the suspect was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered. His identity was not immediately known. The circumstances that led to the dispute were unclear. Investigators urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact the LAPD.
