We are in the days of August, but you wouldn’t know it from the weather, at least on the island. It’s been rainy in many parts of Labrador with the wind off the ocean, but it’s a different story on the island where temperatures will be in the mid to high decades for most of the week according to Environment Canada. Meteorologist Wanda Batten says heat warnings are possible for parts of the island – a heat warning is a daytime temperature of at least 28 degrees and a minimum temperature of 16 at night. Such warnings are possible for the northeast coast and west coast as well as central Newfoundland as temperatures could reach 30 degrees.
